What are Super Foods?

Generally, super foods are foods that are loaded with vitamins and other nutrients – they are nutrient dense.

Many of these foods can be eaten by themselves.

For example, try a handful of almonds for an afternoon snack.

Have a few slices of watermelon for dessert.

Bake a sweet potato and once it has cooled, eat it like a candy bar.

Also try some new recipes for some of these foods.

Just click on the name of each food for a helpful resource.

  1. Wow, I am surprised at the number of super foods I eat regularly. Almonds, avocados, dark chocolate and eggs. I occasionally eat spinach and watermelon. One of my favorite snacks or light lunch is to take a piece of toast, spread mashed avocado on it and top with sliced boiled eggs. I add some black pepper for spice.
