Difficult Yoga Poses
From the title of this post, you’d think this article will be all about different difficult yoga poses.
Those poses that require extreme balance, strength, and concentration.
Instead, I’d like to know…
What is the most difficult yoga pose for you?
If you’re a yoga instructor or just someone with years of yoga practice, you probably have no trouble with the basic yoga poses. Those commonly used in sun salutations.
For you, some of the more complicated poses may be the ones you find most difficult.
For others, like me, some of the basic yoga poses may be difficult.
For example, I’ve practiced yoga off and on for many years. Yet, I still find downward facing dog (also called downward dog) to be a challenging pose.
It’s difficult to maintain for very long.
And I always feel as if my arms are too short to do this pose with ease.
I look more like the person in the photo, above, which is fine when just starting a yoga practice.
You’ll notice that her head isn’t between her arms and her heels are not touching the ground, though.
This is what I tend to look like when I’m in downward facing dog pose.
Watch this video to see what I’m striving to look like when I do downward dog.
I know that if I continue to practice downward dog regularly, my arms will get stronger, I’ll become more flexible, and eventually I may feel more comfortable in this pose.
My goal is just to continue my practice and get stronger and more flexible over time.
Now…which pose do you find most challenging?
I think it helps to know that others may find even the basic poses a bit challenging.
Namaste,
