Healthy Living 30 Day Challenge – Day 8
Welcome to Day 8 of my Healthy Living 30 Day Challenge, created for my YogaNudge Facebook Group (which I hope you will join, if you aren’t yet a member).
Probably most of the people in my Yoganudge Facebook group don’t practice yoga.
In fact, many of them have probably never even tried yoga because the group is more about healthy living than it is about just yoga.
And you might not practice yoga either, so I suggest you read this article that explains the Benefits of Regular Yoga Practice.
Once you realize all the benefits you’ll receive if you practice yoga regularly, you’re ready for today’s tip:
Tip for Day 8 of my Healthy Living 30 Day Challenge: If you have never tried yoga, consult with your doctor first to see if yoga is okay for you. Then, try some gentle yoga moves to get started. You can do these in the privacy of your own home, at your own pace. Join my Yoganudge Facebook group, where you'll be able to download my self-study yoga tutorial called 21 Days of Yoga - as a gift just for belonging to the group. Look through the 21 days of suggestions for starting your own yoga practice. Next, follow the directions for Day 1.
I hope you will follow the 21 Days of Yoga to begin your own yoga practice.
You’ll notice from the tutorial that yoga doesn’t need to be difficult or strenuous.
And, since it’s a practice, you don’t need to do any of the poses perfectly.
You want to do them correctly, of course.
And as you do them on a regular basis, you’ll be amazed at how your body responds and you’re able to do the poses easier in just a matter of days.
If you decide to give yoga a try, you’ll probably want to buy a yoga mat.
Your yoga practice will be much safer if you use a yoga mat, and not just any little rug or mat.
I also suggest a pair of yoga blocks
They make it easier to do many of the poses when you can’t quite stretch enough to reach the ground for a particular pose.
Yoga blocks are sturdy, but not too hard, so they’re better than just using a book or some other type of block for your yoga practice.

I decided not to start the yoga yet but I am still getting at least 5K steps each day. I hope to increase to 6K daily steps before the month is out.
