healthy living 30 day challenge

Today is Day 3 of the Healthy Living 30 Day Challenge sponsored by yoganudge.com for my Facebook group, which I hope you will join if you aren’t yet a member.

I created this 30 day challenge to help people like me—who sit and work at a computer most days—to do just one thing each day to start living a healthier, happier, more active life.

As I’ve said before, it’s really easy for me to sit and work ALL day, without taking any time away from my desk for some exercise, so I appreciate any support I can get from other writers, coaches, and anyone who is taking part in this challenge.

Here's today's tip:

Spend at least 15 minutes outside some place with a nice view. It could be the park, the beach (my personal favorite, see photos, below), or just in your own backyard. Enjoy the sunshine. Relax and let your mind wander as you rest and recharge.

Sitting outside in a lovely spot for as little as 15 minutes can:

° Cause you to relax your muscles and let go of tension in the neck and shoulders.

° Lower your blood pressure.

° Allow you to get some fresh air.

° Boost your levels of Vitamin D.

Since I live and write by the sea on Florida’s beautiful Treasure Coast, it’s easy for me to enjoy the view of the beach.

Yet, if I’m not careful, days—even weeks— can slip by without time spent just relaxing and admiring the view.

Taking time to relax and enjoy the scenery can lower your blood pressure and boost your mood.

I always feel better when I take time to just sit and admire the sea.

I’m going to take my own advice today and spend some time at the beach.

I’ll try to get some new photos to share here tomorrow because there’s always something new and interesting to see at the beach.

Namaste,

    1. Hey, Sandra,

I love porches – and rocking chairs. That’s about all I need – a rocking chair and a porch with a nice view.
