You probably already know that different scents have been shown to have different effects on the body and mind.
But did you know that studies conducted several years ago showed that the scent people found to be the most sexually stimulating was the scent of cinnamon rolls baking?
Yep. That’s right.
Cinnamon rolls are actually a sexy scent. Go figure.
The Power of Scent
Some scents have a relaxing effect.
Others a soothing effect and other scents are energizing.
So what scents are you surrounding yourself with?
You may not realize it, but they are affecting the way you feel and act.
What Does Your House Smell Like?
Quick, what does your house smell like right now?
Wet dog?
Dirty socks?
Fresh flowers?
Last night’s dinner?
To get in the mood you want to be in, change the way your house smells.
Try Essential Oils
Personally, I don’t care for the scents created by plug-ins or room sprays.
They generally are too overpowering or smell too artificial.
Instead, I prefer the scents of essential oils used with a diffuser.
This is a wonderful aromatherapy essential oil starter kit –
It contains 6 bottles (10ml each) of:
• Lemongrass (Cymbopogon flexuosus)
• Tea Tree (Melaleuca alternifolia)
• Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globules)
• Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia)
• Sweet Orange (Citrus sinensis)
• Peppermint (Mentha piperita)
The oils come in luxurious brown amber bottles to ensure maximum freshness.
Choose the Oil That’s Right for the Mood You Want to Create
Today I’ll be brainstorming some new story ideas since I’m a full-time writer, so I think I’ll put a little peppermint oil in my diffuser.
Peppermint is an energy booster.
It also promotes concentration and stimulates clear thinking, so it should help me stay on track with my writing today.
But uh-oh….
…my husband says he’s in the mood for cinnamon rolls.
Namaste,
Suzanne Lieurance
